If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're in the same place I was.
Maybe you've tried one of the products and absolutely loved it.
Maybe a friend shared Olive Tree People with you.
Or maybe you've been seeing it pop up on social media and you're wondering...
"Is becoming a consultant actually worth it?"
I know that's exactly what I wanted to know before I signed up.
As a former registered nurse, mom, and someone who's incredibly passionate about living a lower-tox lifestyle, I don't join companies lightly.
In fact, I had already been sharing products online through affiliate marketing for years before I ever considered becoming an Olive Tree People consultant.
So this wasn't a decision I made on impulse.
I wanted to know:
Are the products actually good and meet my low-tox standards?
Is the compensation plan actually good?
Can you make money without constantly recruiting?
Are the products really that much better than your average skincare product?
Is this just another MLM?
Would I still feel aligned sharing these products a year from now?
Now that I've been part of the company, I can honestly say...
I'm glad I joined.
Not because I think everyone should become a consultant.
But because it fit what I was already doing naturally, the products met my low-tox standards and I truly loved what they were doing for my skin.
In this article I'm sharing everything I wish someone had explained to me before I signed up—including the compensation plan, who I think should (and shouldn't) join, and why I ultimately decided Olive Tree People was the right fit for me.
Why I Even Considered Joining
If you've followed me for very long, you know I'm incredibly picky about the companies I partner with.
That actually comes from my own personal story.
About nine years ago, I was with another direct sales company.
At the time, I genuinely enjoyed it and was in the top 1% of the company.
But after walking through infertility and miscarriage, I started diving deep into the research on endocrine disruptors and the ingredients we use on our bodies every single day.
The more I learned, the more I realized my values had changed.
Eventually, I no longer felt aligned with the products I was representing.
That experience taught me something really important:
I never wanted to promote a company simply because it paid me.
If I was going to recommend something, it had to be something I'd confidently use on myself and my own family.
The Product That Changed My Mind
Ironically... I didn't join Olive Tree People because of the compensation plan.
I joined because of one product. The F06 Cell Active Face Serum. I bought it simply wanting to see what all the hype was about.
After using it myself, I understood.
I loved how my skin felt.
I loved the ingredients.
I loved the philosophy behind the company and the fact it has been a solid company in Europe for over 20 years sold in brick and mortar stores.
And for the first time in a long time, I found myself naturally telling friends about it without even trying to "sell" anything.
That's when I started paying attention to the business side.
Why I Finally Decided to Sign Up
Honestly...Even if I never sold a single bottle, signing up still made financial sense for me.
Here's why.
The enrollment fee was only $50, and consultants receive 25% off products.
I already knew I'd easily spend more than $200 per year on products I personally used. The 25% off the products I purchase for myself would more than cover the $50 enrollement fee.
That made the decision feel incredibly low risk.
Then I realized something else. I was already recommending lower tox products I love online through affiliate marketing. Olive Tree People fit naturally into what I was already doing.
Instead of sending someone to a generic website, I could simply share my own consultant link and earn a commission on products I genuinely loved.
I didn't have to start cold messaging strangers.
I didn't have to host in person or online parties, although you certain can if that is your thing!
I just kept educating the same way I always had and sharing about the things I genuinely use and love.
That felt authentic to me.
Why I Believe Olive Tree People Is Different
One of the biggest reasons I felt comfortable aligning myself with this company is because of its commitment to ingredient quality.
The products are manufactured in Europe, which means they must comply with the European Union's stricter cosmetic regulations. While no regulatory system is perfect, I appreciate that many ingredients permitted in U.S. cosmetics are more tightly restricted or prohibited in the EU. That gave me additional confidence as someone who spends a lot of time researching ingredients.
Another thing I love is the company's waterless philosophy.
Most skincare products are made primarily of water. Water isn't necessarily "bad," but when it's the main ingredient, formulas are often diluted and generally require preservatives to keep bacteria, mold, and yeast from growing.
Olive Tree People takes a different approach by replacing much of that water with olive leaf elixirs and other botanical ingredients. I love the idea that I'm paying for more of the ingredients intended to benefit my skin rather than a bottle that's mostly water.
As someone who cares deeply about reducing unnecessary chemical exposure when I can, this company simply made sense to me to partner with.
Let's Talk About the Compensation Plan
I'll be honest...
I was already making money through affiliate marketing, so when I looked at Olive Tree Peoples Compensation plan it was a no brainer.
What caught my attention was that high commission rate on your own personal sales to customers.
If you aren't familiar with affiliate marketing it is where you share a specific link to a company you partner with and if someone purchases through your link you earn a commission off it. Typically the average affiliate commission is around 10-20% and a lot of times you only get paid on their first order. Olive Tree People pay's out 25-35% commission on your own personal sales! Another thing I love about Olive Tree People is that if a customer orders through your link you will continue to earn a commission on their future orders as well.
In many network marketing companies, it feels like the only way to earn meaningful income is by recruiting.
That hasn't been my experience here. One of the things I appreciate most about Olive Tree People is that you don't have to build a huge team to make it worthwhile.
How Consultants Get Paid
There are three primary ways consultants can earn income. I will break them down below, but first I'll drop a picture of the compensation plan.
1. Retail Commissions (My Favorite)
This is honestly where I think Olive Tree People stands out.
Consultants can earn 25%–35% commission on their own customer sales, depending on how much they sell that month. You will always earn 25% commission but it bumps up to 30% commission if you sell over $1000 in that month, or 35% commission if you sell over $3,000 in that month.
That means if you're someone who already enjoys sharing products naturally—whether through Instagram, Facebook, a blog, email, or simply talking with friends—you can earn a very respectable income without feeling like you have to recruit anyone.
As someone who already had an affiliate marketing business, this immediately made sense to me.
I simply added another product line that I genuinely loved and knew would fit my audience.
If someone purchases through my link because they trust my recommendation, I earn a commission.
That's something I was already doing every day. But even if you have never done affiliate marketing before and feel intimidated by it, stop and think about all the other things you are recommending to people all the time but never get paid for it? We do this naturally by recommending our favorite restaurant, movies, recipes, shampoo's, bug spray, ect. So why not get paid for it?
2. Team Building (If That's Something You Want)
The third way to earn is by building a team.
Notice I didn't say "have to."
You absolutely can if that's something you're interested in.
Personally, I like that it's an option—not a requirement.
If mentoring others, building a community, and helping people grow a business excites you, there are additional bonuses and leadership commissions available. You will earn an additional 1-10% of your teams sales each month.
But if that's not your goal, you can absolutely focus on sharing products you love and earning commissions from your own customer sales.
That flexibility was really appealing to me.
3. Bonuses
There are 4 different types of bonuses they offer and many months you can earn more than one bonus. However, keep in mind all of these bonuses do require you to recruit and build a team.
They currently offer these 4 bonuses:
1) Fast Start Bonuses
2) Team Growth Bonuses
3) Rank Advancement Bonus
4) Leadership Quarterly Bonus
The Biggest Surprise After Joining
One thing I honestly wasn't expecting... Customer retention.
With Olive Tree People, I was pleasantly surprised by how many people reordered.
Once someone finds products they genuinely love, they often keep coming back.
That creates repeat customers, which is something every business owner appreciates.
Of course, not every customer reorders, but I've been really impressed with the loyalty many people have to these products.
For me, that's one of the biggest strengths of the company.
The Biggest Misconception About Olive Tree People
If there's one myth I'd love to bust, it's this:
"You have to be good at social media to succeed."
I hear this all the time.
The truth?
Social media is simply one way to build a business.
I actually have a sweet friend in the company who sells the vast majority of her products simply by talking with friends and family.
No viral reels. No fancy content. No huge following.
She genuinely loves the products, shares her experience, answers questions, and people naturally become curious.
Could social media help? Absolutely.
It's been a huge part of my business because I genuinely enjoy creating educational content.
But it's definitely not the only path to success.
At the end of the day, people buy from people they trust—whether that's online, across the kitchen table, at a market or in a group setting.
Who I Think Should Become a Consultant
I don't believe everyone should sign up.
But I do think there are certain people who are a great fit.
I'd absolutely recommend becoming a consultant if:
✔ You already love the products and know you'll continue using them.
✔ You'll likely spend more than $200 a year on products anyway, making the 25% discount worthwhile.
✔ You enjoy sharing products you genuinely love with friends and family.
✔ You already create content online or have an interest in affiliate marketing.
✔ You'd like your own personalized shopping link to earn commissions.
✔ You're interested in building an additional stream of income.
✔ You eventually want to mentor or build a team.
Who I Honestly Don't Think Should Join
I also think it's important to be realistic.
I probably wouldn't recommend becoming a consultant if:
You don't actually like the products.
You're looking for a "get rich quick" opportunity.
You dislike talking to people about products you enjoy.
You're only joining because someone pressured you.
You're expecting money to magically appear without putting in any effort.
Like any business, Olive Tree People rewards consistency.
Whether you're sharing products online, talking to friends, or building a team, success comes from showing up over time—not from simply signing an enrollment form or sharing about the product once.
Is Olive Tree People an MLM?
Let's just address the elephant in the room.
Yes.
Olive Tree People is a network marketing (MLM) company.
And I know that word can bring up a lot of opinions.
Honestly, I understand why.
Years ago, I was with another direct sales company, and over time I realized it no longer aligned with my values. That experience made me much more cautious about the companies I choose to partner with today.
So when I started looking into Olive Tree People, I wasn't just evaluating the products—I was evaluating the business.
I wanted to know if it felt ethical.
I wanted to know if the products actually stood on their own.
I wanted to know if I could genuinely recommend them, even if there wasn't a business opportunity attached.
For me, the answer was yes.
I truly believe these are products people buy because they love them—not because someone convinced them they needed to join a business.
That distinction matters to me.
Can You Make Money with Olive Tree People?
This is probably the number one question people are searching for.
And my answer is...
Yes—but probably not for the reason you think.
You don't make money simply because you signed up.
You make money because you're helping people discover products they love.
That's true whether you're running a traditional business, doing affiliate marketing, or building a team in network marketing.
I've built a large part of my business around education.
I don't pressure people to buy.
I don't cold message strangers.
I don't chase people down.
Instead, I share products that I genuinely use in my own home, explain why I like them, and let people decide whether they're a good fit.
That's the exact same approach I've taken with Olive Tree People.
Some people purchase.
Some don't.
And that's okay.
If you're looking for a business where you can sign up and immediately make thousands of dollars without putting in any effort, this isn't it.
But if you're willing to consistently educate, build trust, and recommend products you genuinely believe in, I absolutely think it's possible to create a meaningful income over time.
Olive Tree People vs. Affiliate Marketing
This is actually one of the reasons I felt so comfortable joining.
Before Olive Tree People, I was already earning income through affiliate marketing.
I was already recommending products I loved.
I was already creating educational content.
I was already answering questions from people who wanted to know what I personally used.
In many ways, adding Olive Tree People felt less like starting a new business and more like adding another product line to a business I had already built.
The biggest difference?
With traditional affiliate marketing, commissions are often much lower and often times only paid on the customers first order.
With Olive Tree People, consultants can earn 25–35% on their own customer sales, which is significantly higher than many affiliate programs. Plus if they reorder you will still earn a commission on it!
For me, that made it a natural fit.
Questions I Get Asked All the Time
Do I have to build a team?
No.
If your goal is simply to enjoy the product discount and earn commissions by sharing products you already love, you can absolutely do that.
Building a team is an option—not a requirement.
Do I need a huge social media following?
Definitely not.
While social media has been an important part of my own business over these last few years, I know consultants who sell the majority of their products simply by talking with friends, family, coworkers, and people in their local community.
Relationships matter far more than follower count.
Do I have to carry inventory?
No.
One thing I appreciate is that I don't have to stock my garage with products or worry about shipping orders myself.
Customers order directly through my consultant website, and the company handles fulfillment.
Is the enrollment fee worth it?
For me, absolutely.
Since I knew I'd be purchasing products for myself anyway, the 25% consultant discount more than covered the enrollment fee.
Even if I had never shared a single product with anyone else, becoming a consultant still made financial sense for my own household.
What if I only want the discount?
Honestly...
That's a perfectly valid reason to join.
If you already know you'll spend more than about $200 a year on products you love, the savings alone can make becoming a consultant worthwhile.
Anything you earn from sharing your link is simply an added bonus.
My Honest Pros & Cons
No company is perfect, and I think it's important to share both sides.
What I Love
✔ Products I genuinely use and feel good recommending.
✔ Manufactured in Europe under stricter cosmetic regulations.
✔ Waterless formulations that focus on botanical ingredients instead of simply filling the bottle with water.
✔ Strong customer loyalty and repeat orders.
✔ Generous commissions on personal sales.
✔ I can treat it like affiliate marketing if I want to.
✔ No inventory required.
✔ It fits naturally into the educational content I was already creating.
Things to Consider
✘ The products are definitely an investment compared to drugstore skincare.
✘ Like any business, success requires consistency.
✘ Network marketing still carries a stigma for some people.
✘ If you don't genuinely love the products, I wouldn't recommend joining just for the business opportunity.
For me, the products came first.
The business opportunity came second.
And I actually think that's how it should be. If you don't love what you are selling, you are not being authentic and you will loose trust with your friends, family or online community.
My Final Thoughts
If you've read this far, you can probably tell I'm not interested in convincing everyone to become an Olive Tree People consultant.
Honestly, I don't think everyone should.
But I do think it's an incredible opportunity for the right person.
If you're already passionate about living a lower-tox lifestyle...
If you naturally love sharing products that have made a difference for you...
If you're looking for a flexible way to earn extra income...
Or if you're already buying the products and want to save money on your own orders...
Then I think it's absolutely worth considering.
Looking back, I'm genuinely glad I joined.
Not because someone promised I'd get rich.
Not because I felt pressured.
But because it aligned with the business I was already building and the values I already had.
For me, that's what made all the difference.
